The most festive night of the year is almost here! University Town Center (UTC) will officially unwrap the holiday season on Saturday, November 8 with the return of Santa’s Grand Arrival Parade — complete with all-star entertainment, featured balloons, fabulous floats, fireworks and more.
The celebration begins at 5:45 p.m. with a special Veterans Tribute hosted by Ty McFarland, former Captain in the Army National Guard and beloved Master of Ceremonies for Wonderland Circus at UTC. This year, UTC is proud to shine a spotlight on Goodwill Manasota and its Veterans Services Program, which helps local veterans and their families transition back into civilian life with employment and support services.
At 6:00 p.m., look to the sky! World-renowned aerialists Nik and Lijana Wallenda will perform a crisscross skywalk and light UTC’s 50-foot Christmas tree, followed by the first holiday light show of the season.
Hosted by 107.9 WSRZ’s Jones and Company, this year’s parade – themed “Believe” – brings the holiday magic to life with more than 60 fantastical floats, marching bands and dance groups, plus 10 giant, Macy’s-style balloons presented by community partners including Blaze Pizza, Discovery Point Twelve Oaks, Lakewood Ranch Business Alliance, Meals on Wheels of Sarasota, Rocco’s Tacos & Tequila Bar, Sarasota Ballet, Sarasota Paradise and UTC.
And of course, the moment everyone’s waiting for — Santa will make his grand entrance on his sleigh.
Right after Santa arrives, the night sky will sparkle with festive fireworks, followed by a free after-party performance by We The Kings on the main stage.
A portion of N. Cattlemen Road will close to thru traffic starting at 4 p.m., so plan to arrive early and enjoy the pre-parade fun.
Here’s what’s happening:
Mark your calendar, gather your family and friends, and help us welcome the holiday season in the most magical way — only at UTC.
