Hanukkah officially starts at sundown on December 25, but why wait to celebrate? Kick off the holiday a few days early with a Hanukkah Celebration at UTC on December 17 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Held in partnership with Temple Emanu-El, this free, community celebration will feature a live concert by the acclaimed Jewish a cappella group Six13, festive treats, face painting, a gift shop, and so much more. While the event is free, guests are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy to benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota and DeSoto Counties. The event will take place under the big top at UTC, located at 140 University Town Center Drive.
Holiday Movies Under the Stars
Grab a cup of cocoa and cozy up for a special outdoor showing of “Adam Sandler’s Eight Crazy Nights” on December 28 at 7 p.m. in the lot by Ford’s Garage.
Join Temple Sinai for its annual Hands on Hanukkah on December 29 from 4-6 p.m. inside The Mall at UTC. The family-friendly event held in Macy’s Court will feature crafts, delicious treats, entertainment, giveaways, the lighting of the candles to celebrate the 5th night of Hanukkah and more.
This popular local donut shop has returned with its annual offering of jelly-filled donuts, available in strawberry, nutella, custard, caramel and orange marmalade. Pre-orders available.
Norman Love is bringing sweetness to the season with chocolates in eight limited-edition Hanukkah flavors, like chocolate babka, coconut macaroon and berry cheese blintz. The handcrafted chocolates are available in eight and 25-piece gift boxes – perfect for gifting or keeping for yourself!
The French bistro is offering a delightful selection of Hanukkah specials from December 24 through January 4, including fresh baked challah bread, mini jelly beignets and a brisket eggs benedict.
From December 27-29, our fave local bagel spot is bringing back its blue and white bagels. Available for a limited time only, the bagels are a great way to add a little extra joy to your Hanukkah breakfast celebrations!
