Thanksgiving Specials at University Town Center
Thanksgiving is a time to gather with family and friends. But if you’d rather relax…
Read MoreWe’re summer lovin’, having a blast with our newest outdoor mural in the West District at UTC. For the last month of summer, we partnered with Sarasota artist Autumn Beckett to hand paint this bubbly scene speckled with fun friends and dreamy colors at our ever-changing public art space.
Autumn is a self-taught artist who was born to paint, and she adores living as playfully and expressively as possible. The recurring themes of her work are joy, laughter, friendship, absurdity, playfulness, fun, mystery, gratitude, romance, levity, and scenes of impish friends who swirl around in her artwork (If it isn’t fun…Autumn isn’t interested!)
Autumn honed her artistic skills from a young age by doodling cartoons (usually of cute boys, funny friends, cats, and horses that she fell in love with), making pilgrimages to many art museums, and sleuthing on her favorite artists. Since then, she has been commissioned to paint enchanting murals in libraries, public parks, bed and breakfasts, community centers, yoga studios, and homes across the U.S. She loves the challenge of capturing the essence of fun and sharing it with the world.
Autumn’s raison d’etre is to delight everyone who passes by her artwork and inspire grins from strangers with her paintings. So, stop by her painting this month between Blaze Pizza and JPAN Sushi & Grill and share those smiles with #utcsarasota.
