Sarasota’s first true omakase experience, Yūgen is an intimate, 10-seat, reservation-only chef’s counter created by James Beard–nominated restaurateur brothers Jimmy and Johnny Tung, the team behind Tampa’s Michelin-starred Kōsen and UTC’s Zōtō. Led by Michelin-recognized Executive Chef Atsushi Okawara, Yūgen will feature a seasonal, kaiseki-style menu that goes beyond sushi to showcase the full spectrum of Japanese technique, using premium ingredients sourced through his network in Japan and prepared across multiple cooking methods. A moody, minimalist dining room adjacent to Zōtō sets the stage for world-class hospitality led by Janet Kim, while an elevated wine, sake and cocktail program from Sommelier Benjamin Coutts and Daniel Lugo completes the experience.
